Local Philanthropy

As individuals with time, talents and treasures, BIAA first supports our sisters. Then, we participate in local service projects and finally, we serve the greater good.

Our association supports the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts which help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support our museums.

In addition, we participate in local service events in the Greater Boston Area:

Esperanza Academy

Esperanza Academy is a tuition-free and independent middle school in the Episcopal tradition welcoming girls of diverse faiths, races, and cultures from Lawrence, Massachusetts. The school, which opened in 2006, is 100% privately funded and relies on the generosity of its donors. This amazing institution was partially the brain-child of our late sister, Rosalyn K. Wood. Hence, our Kappa connection with Esperanza.

BIAA Sesquicentennial Scholarship Challenge

Kappa Kappa Gamma turns 150 in 2020, and to celebrate our sesquicentennial, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation is raising $441,000 to provide a $3,000 one-time scholarship to a Kappa from EVERY single chapter in North America. BIAA decided to do our part by committing to raise enough to sponsor one scholarship.

As of September 2019, we reached our goal. We raised $3000 to fund a scholarship that will be awarded a qualifying scholarship applicant from Zeta Alpha, Babson.

Thank you to all who contributed. It was an exciting and fun endeavor and has motivated us to continue fundraising for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation and other philanthropic endeavors.

Reading is Fundamental (RIF)

BIAA continues to collect books at all our events to donate to local schools. We focus on books for elementary age children.
