Association History
You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.
Founded in 1924, BIAA is the go-to group for Kappas looking to connect to other Kappas in the Metro Boston area. Our organization boasts members from areas in downtown Boston, up through the North Shore, South Shore and out past Worcester. Members vary in age, initiating chapter, profession, and interests, but there is one thing that binds us together - Kappa Kappa Gamma. We are a fun, energetic group with regular meetings and activities throughout the year. We proudly support three local Kappa Kappa Gamma chapters, Zeta Alpha, Babson College, Delta Nu, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Eta Omicron, Northeastern University, with members on their Advisory Boards and joint activities to foster sisterhood. In addition, we contribute our time philanthropically to help local non-profit organizations reach their goals and we raise funds for both the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation and local non-profit organizations.
BIAA has received many awards at National Conventions and Province Meetings including the Rose McGill Award, McNaboe Commitment Award, and Shryock Award. At Convention 2018, we were awarded the Sally Moore Nitschke Lifelong Education Award for our outstanding programs! We again received the Sally Moore Nitschke Lifelong Education Award for educational programming again in 2020.
