As BIAA Recording Secretary for the past millennium:), I'm happy to share some fun facts for those of you who don't know me! --I'm the mom of three wonderful adult boys (twins Brad and Scott, 38; and John 35), who all work in the Cambridge pharmaceutical business (thanks to their mom who got all three started at Genzyme after college!). -- I was a Staffing Manager for Randstad for over 24 years, but left that hectic world for a more balanced life at ACE Surgical as an Inside Territory Manager in 2012. -- I love CASTLES (Scotland was fabulous in June 2022, except for my COVID diagnosis) -- Retirement beckoned in 2018, and now I'm a pickleball enthusiast! It is a fun, social and energetic game, and I've made wonderful new friends while playing. Who knew Abington had so much to offer! Reach out to me anytime with questions or suggestions for the Board! Katie Leavitt
Fundraising
Hey there! I’m Katie Preston, the fundraising chair at BIAA. I’ve held this role since 2021 and have been active in BIAA since 2020. It was interesting joining during the pandemic, but I’m really loving getting out and spending time with my sisters here in Boston! Kappa was an important part of my collegiate experience at Furman University (Eta Alpha chapter) and I’ve enjoyed being active in the Atlanta, Richmond, and now Boston alumnae groups. You can find me hanging at Kappa Karaoke when I’m not busy flying (I’m a flight attendant) - my go to song is Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time! In the rest of my free time, I love to run, play Auntie with my nieces and nephews, and spend time with my boo, Andrew. You can reach out to me at fundraising@bostonkappas.com if you have any questions!
Alexa Shannon
Communications
Have you ever wondered who puts together our BIAA emails? Hi, I'm Alexa Shannon and I've been the Communications Chair at the BIAA since this spring. I'm most involved in BIAA through the Book Club (let me know if you have any great book recommendations) but you can also find me at the various other programming events BIAA has. I was initiated in 2008 at the Epsilon Kappa chapter at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) and moved to Boston in 2015. I love skiing, reading, and watching football. You can reach out to me at communication@bostonkappas.com if you have anything you would like to see in future Keynotes!

Sue Hardie
Treasurer
I'm Sue Hardie. Currently I’m BIAA Treasurer, a grad from Monmouth College who considers corn fields on one side of the road with soybeans on the other – HOME! My career focused on the corporate financial services sector though helping people was always a priority. I found working with numbers fun, like puzzle-solving. I began working in banking finance departments, got an MBA, passed the CPA exam, went hiking in Glacier National Park as my reward, where I met my husband. I moved to Boston, married, and joined BIAA to meet women not associated with my job (best decision ever!). After years of playing with numbers, I retired in 2017 to now spend time helping others at Household Goods and the Town of Boxborough. BIAA has been a wonderful source of inspiration and friendships that I never imagined when I pledged Kappa!
Quintana Carter
Membership
I'm Quintana Carter, but many of you know me just as Q and I am the membership chair for BIAA. I am a Kappa from Arizona State (Epsilon Delta) and moved to Boston to experience the magic that is all 4 seasons and specifically snow. I now work at Dana-Farber as a project manager focusing on pediatric psychosocial oncology. I joined BIAA after great alumni experiences with the DC and LA Kappas and have found in Boston an equally diverse and fun group of women. Feel free to reach out to me with any membership questions or info on Kappas we have lost touch with that would like to reconnect through BIAA -- membership@bostonkappas.com.
